Practice makes perfect!

For May, we have a third degree coming up, so it’s time to get to work.  Bro Vern Dorothy has been working towards the Sublime Degree for a couple of years now, and this is his time!  I’m looking forward to putting on this degree because I’ve been friends with Vern for a long while.  It’s also been a long while since we have put on this degree, so extra practice is in order.  If you’re interested in participating, please let me know so I can make sure you’re included.

As Master of the Lodge, I’ve been trying to promote nights where we can get together, not for degrees, or practices, or meetings, but only for camaraderie.  These fellowship nights are going to be open for anyone to attend, from the most veteran Past Master, to men interested in the craft, let’s all come together and establish our connections.  Please check the calendar these upcoming months for the next event.

Looking towards the summer months, I have talked with several other Masons from other Lodges and we are talking about putting on a degree day, one where several degrees can be done in a single day, and an all day event of Brotherly love. Also, since we have deeply cleaned the lodge, and have arranged many of our items in an orderly fashion, we have come across several Masonic Artifacts that might be of interest to view and discuss, my idea is to have this
degree day be one where brothers can share in their collections and have a chance to talk further about the items that they have collected.  If you wish to participate, all you would have to do is come to the event with your items!  More information will be announced as we have a day planned.

Fraternally,
William “Woody” Purdy
